Jayhawks ACT

In the development of the Jayhawk Buddy System campaign, it was important to create action steps to increase safety while navigating spaces where alcohol may be present. The tagline became: Jayhawks ACT. Buddy Up. The acronym ACT became the three main action steps:

A - Agree to a buddy and stay together the entire time.

C - Check in with your buddy regularly.

T - Take charge to get home together safely.

While there are many other action steps – protective behaviors – that are a part of this campaign, the goal is for all students to ACT so they are prepared and empowered in their decisions.
