Data Collection at KU

The National College Health Assessment (NCHA) is a national research survey created to assist institutions of higher education collect data about their students’ habits, behaviors, and perceptions of prevalent health topics.



U Celebrate! is a survey conducted by the National Social Norms Center to learn more about the factors that influence students in their choice of whether or not to use alcohol in their daily lives and during celebratory events.



The Jayhawk Buddy System utilized NCHA data collected from 2009-2017 as well as U Celebrate data collected in 2018, 2019 and 2022 at the University of Kansas in their social norms messages. The program has shown tremendous positive behavior change with students over this period of time.
